July Reviews

Ohmygoodness is it July already? It's time to get rollin' on those pesky classics and post your July reads in Mister Linky below. Please only link to your specific review--if you're not sure how to do that all you need to do is click on the title of your post (using this post as an example, I would click on "July Reviews") and copy the web address that pops up on your browser as your URL.

Please use this format for your name: Trish (Oliver Twist)
If you don't have a blog, you can just put your name and book in the "name" field and leave the "url" field blank. Feel free to pester me in the comments section with any problems. ;)

Haven't signed up for the challenge yet? No worries--you can sign up below any time during the challenge!

Have a great month of reading!! And I leave you with one of my favorite clips from a classic-made-into-a-movie (Pride & Prejudice--the new version).

Have a suggestion for the August clip? Let me know!! (otherwise we may be stuck with six P&P clips!)

***NOTE: I'm having issues with the comment tag below not showing up. If the tag isn't there click HERE and scroll down to see/leave comments (yes, it will take you back to this post, but the comments will be below). Does anyone know how to fix this issue??

Now finally I can get "cranking" on Look Homeward, Angel by Thomas Wolfe since I had to wait until after July 1 to be finished with it.

*Readingfool - yes--that is what the rules state. ;)

Well, you could always post the snake dance from Bride & Prejudice! You know that's really our favorite! Now that the Classic Challenge is getting underway officially, I won't feel so bad on giving up on Water for Elephants. I've been stuck on page 61 forever. Time to go back to the library I'm afraid.

*Em - I almost wrote that in my email to you (about B&P)--too funny! I read Water for Elephants relatively quickly but it wasn't my favorite book--just OK. I think I'm going to have to reshelf Tess for a while--really struggling through it. :/

Hey--the comment link is working now. Did you fix it, or did it magically appear on it's own?

*Laura - I saw that it was working so took off the disclaimer about it not working and now it's not again. GRRRR! I put a post up on blogger help thingy, but I don't know if they are helping me or not (not that I know of). :)

Sorry, took me 3 tries to get my link right. The 3rd one is OK. Thanks. I'm on to the Golden Bowl!

Kya - no worries!!

Hey! I just posted the link to my first review, then decided I needed to create a new blog after all. Is there anyway to change the URL? The new one is: http://blacksheepbooks.blogspot.com/2008/07/moll-flanders.html

Thanks!

Blacksheep--first, welcome to the challenge! How did you hear about it?

No worries about the link--I've fixed it so it feeds to your post.

Have a great time and if you have any questions, let me know. And your list of classics just for July is quite impressive!

My review of Emma has been posted. :)

Duh. I see that you said to put the name of the book after my name and hit enter before I could think about it again. Sorry Trish.

*Dar - Not a problem!! At least you liked it to your actual post--that's where I do most of my fixing. :) I've fixed it so it has the name of the book. And don't worry! It took me a little bit of time when I first started doing challenges to get used to Mister Linky...

Thanks so much Trish!

I have finished all my challenge books! I was going to submit Love in the Time of Cholera as my submission for what may become a classic, and I see it's already on the list so I'll add a second to it. I read it in addition to my classics, and thoroughly enjoyed the book. I really loved this challenge. Thanks for inviting me, Trini (aka Trish). :-)
